How to make TypeStatus even more awesome

How to make TypeStatus even more awesome

Yesterday I highlighted TypeStatus as one of my jailbreak tweaks of the week, in our first ‘Tweak Week’ episode. This is a fantastic little tweak that indicates when a user is typing an iMessage to you, before it has even been recieved. It does this within the status bar, with a small little icon which appears and reappears depending on whether someone is typing to you or not. The video below highlights TypeStatus’s functionality if you’re unfamilar with it:
That’s not what this video is about, however. TypeStatus is already a pretty awesome tweak, however I noticed this morning that it doesn’t have the feature to tap on the icon, which would bring you to the messages app itself. Since it doesn’t have that feature – I added it myself. Using the ‘Activator’ tweak, which you should have installed already on your device, go to the following directory in the settings: Anywhere > Status Bar, Single Tap Right > Assign to launch ‘Messages’ app. This will allow you to simply tap on the right side of the screen, where the TypeStatus icon appears, and have it launch the messages app. Pretty handy!
