Today, 2k Games officially released Borderlands for both the iPhone/iPod and iPad. The HD iPad version comes in at $6.99 and the regular at $4.99 and both are available now in the App Store. The game is not identical to one of the console versions, instead it offers an addition to the franchise in which them claim is specifically designed for mobile and tablet interfaces.

Control Mordecai, Lilith, Brick and Roland and take out the oncoming waves of enemies. Collect in-game cash by destroying enemies and purchase new weapons. Earn experience and level up your characters, unlocking new skills and abilities! Each character has their own set of unique skills and abilities, use them wisely to survive!

The game has gotten a few complaints from commenters about the lack of 4 inch optimization, not so great graphics, and lack of multiple language support.
