The Samsung Galaxy S4 is a unique device. Unique in the way of expected with leaks parts, and a full rundown of the phone two days before it was released. Is this what the smartphone industry has come down to? The iPhone 5 faced the same treatment with an earlier duration. We attended the Galaxy S4 press event in New York, and gained a hands-on look at the phone. The hardware is phenomenal on the phone in regards to the overall feel is solid, but the plastic used on the rear feels cheap. The S3 feels a bit more solid, and does not feel like your $200 investment was all based upon the components within. Moving over to the software side of things, TouchWiz is interesting. We personally are not fans of it, and would much prefer stock Android. But, if there was an OEM theme required it would be Sense UI by HTC. TouchWiz feels a bit too clunky for the constant innovation, and this is where Samsung lacks. The features such as Air-Gestures, Smart-Pause, and more are quite picky. Without the perfect angle, or light, they do not work. We experienced this throughout the length of the phone, and it really diminished from the phone’s advertised capabilities. In terms of camera, oh my gosh. You will be blown away by the features offered, and performance. It is simply fantastic. A 13-megapixel sensor has never looked so good. It just goes to show that you don’t need the word ‘Ultra’ to set this camera apart from other OEMs. Be sure to check out the full review for the entire list of specifications.
