according to a recent tweet from planetbeing, a reputable contributor to the Jailbreaking community who’s collaborated with the Dev Teams in the past on various utilities, a new kernel exploit has been discovered and added to the current failbreak.
For those of you who are unaware, a “failbreak” is a term that’s often used to refer to a Jailbreak that relies on an Apple iOS developer account and would have severe legal ramifications if released to the public.
In his tweet, planetbeing stated that thanks to the addition of the kernal exploit, tweaks can be made to support Apple’s new iPhone 5. However, before an actual Jailbreak is released to the public, the developers will likely need to discover and implement all exploits required to create an untethered iOS 6 Jailbreak, as the current Tethered limra1n exploit was patched by Apple with the release of updated hardware approximately two years ago.
