Evad3rs have stockpiled exploits for future jailbreaks

Each time Apple releases new software updates, people wonder how long it will take to get jailbroken. For the most recent iteration, iOS 6, we had to wait almost six months for the iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak released earlier this week. As the wait each time grows longer, it has been a growing concern that the end of jailbreaking may be in sight.
However, it is not time to worry yet, because according to a statement from David Wang, the Evad3rs held on to some of the more valuable exploits, opting to delay the release to find others.
The team of hackers that calls themselves the evad3rs say they actually had a full exploit capable of removing all the security restrictions on iOS 6.1 devices working more than a month ago, but chose not to release it until they could replace many of the components of the hack with less valuable exploits, reserving the more powerful techniques for future projects… the team was able to swap out all of it with lower-value exploits except one element targeting a bug used for executing code in an iOS device’s kernel, the deepest, most protected part of the operating system. All the other bugs used in evasi0n are “redundant,” he says, meaning the hackers have found similar, backup bugs they can use even if the newly exposed ones are patched by Apple.
We will most likely see an update soon that patches all of the exploits used in Evasi0n, but there is no reason to worry. When iOS 7 rolls around, it is likely that we will be seeing a jailbreak faster than the half year it took for iOS 6.
