At first, you may wonder why this exist. After all, isn’t Android much more open than iOS? Saurik addresses this right on the main page for Android’s Cydia Substrate:While Android itself is “open”, the devices that run it often aren’t. Before installing Substrate, you will first need to get root access on your device.Additionally, with the launch of Substrate for Android comes one of the most popular substrate apps on iOS, the famed theming platform known as Winterboard. As this is still in its infancy, we will no doubt be seeing more tweaks and improvements as the days move on. Stay tuned for our video demo!
Depending on which device you have, and which version of Android, this process differs; we therefore can’t provide a simple recommendation.
