Long awaited tweak Velox now available on Cydia

Long awaited tweak Velox now available on Cydia

Velox is a tweak newly released jailbreak tweak that has been greatly anticipated for quite some time now. Velox is a tweak that allows you to quickly access the features of many different applications directly from the homescreen.

The basic concept is pretty simple. A swipe on an app icon will open an interface on the home screen very similar to how an iOS folder opens. From this new space, you can access the functionality of the application without ever having to open it or wait for the application to load. Velox has enabled this for many different default and downloadable apps. Here is a full list:
  • Settings — Toggle various settings and change brightness.
  • Photos — Share the most recently taken photo.
  • (Google) Maps — For Apple or Google’s application, you can browse and zoom on a map interface.
  • Weather — Check the latest weather for all enabled locations.
  • Contacts — Look up and get info on all of your contacts.
  • Safari — Open a quick interface that lets you browse the web.
  • Mail — Pretty much allows full access to the mail app. Read, reply, and manage emails straight from the home screen (there have been reports that this feature does not work completely, if at all, but this is a bug that should be fixed soon).
  • Music — Control the music currently playing (from any app that plays music) and seek to a specific point.
  • Reminders & Calendar — View all of your upcoming reminders and events.
  • Camera — Take photos or videos from the home screen.
  • Notes — Create a new note and save it to the notes app.
  • Messages — View unread messages and quickly reply (if quick reply is enabled).
  • Cydia — Check on the newest packages released onto Cydia.
  • iFile — Browse through the phone’s filesystem.
For any app not listed here, Velox also taps into Notification Center, so that you can see any new notifications by swiping on the app. In addition, Velox provides an API so that developers can add their own functionality to specific apps, and release them on to Cydia as addons.
Velox is available right now in BigBoss for $1.99, and it is worth every penny. The interface is very polished, and although it is slightly buggy, more updates are coming every day, and the developers have already pushed out an update to fix many of the most common bugs and complaints. Stay tuned this Tuesday for a video demo of Velox along with the weeks other great tweaks!
