At WWDC today Apple announced iWork for iCloud, a new service for productivity apps that runs entirely in the browser. It supports the full suite of iWork apps (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote), and runs seamlessly right in your webpage. Not only will it run on Mac OS and Windows, but you can import Microsoft Office documents directly to your account. Additionally, the service works on any browser, not just Safari.
Google Drive is the now widely known service that first popularized cloud documents, and Apple is now trying to enter this space. There was no discussion of collaborative editing,  which is one of Google Drive’s attractive features. iWork for iCloud will be available today in a developer beta, so stay tuned for more info
